"I feel I'm incredibly fascinating and this blog bears witness to that simple fact. Friends, from far and wide, are often pestered to keep abreast of my life and opinions. I offer my most sincere greetings to random visitors as well."

Great Weather!
Now they've headed south. What a good opportunity to thank 'em for coming up. Oh, and we give a special thanks for taking us out for dinner on the casino boat too! It was great to see the puppy and I'm sure Macie grew a few inches during the two-night visit!

It looks like they were thinking: 'Nah, we don't believe a word you're saying ...'

Dog Day Afternoon
The visitors made it up across the 49th parallel. Joel, Lynne, and the puppy, Macie got here yesterday afternoon. We walked up to Queen's Park and those four tiny dog's legs did a remarkable job!

Finding an Elephant in a Haystack
I sometimes feel like the old guard. The Net is so much a part of life now that it's hard to imagine how we grew up before its advent. Nowadays, I never shut my computer off and I generally google at least a half dozen times a day to find an answer to a question that pops up in life. How did we used to do that? I certainly don't think people waited for the library to open the following day; I guess, we just stayed blissfully ignorant.
Recently on the phone, Jay, when talking with his sister, discussed an elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka. From Vancouver, we just wanted to see if we could find out a bit more.

How interesting! It's now on the upcoming itinerary.

Geocache at Golden Ears
We got home late yesterday. It was a great day. Perhaps after my class today, I'll put up a couple of photos from the park. We had fun and the gang did help find a geocache called Fern Forest. Apparently, geocaches are everywhere!

The Eyes Have It
I was a little remiss in not getting this file up sooner. Back on my birthday, I quoted a line by Bette Davis as Margo Channing in "All About Eve". Over thirty years later, this tune was popular the summer I finished college. It is the epitome of early 80's music and I've never tired of it.

This Morning's Schedule
Attending classes through the summer is a bit tougher than during a usual term. My class of International students is finding it hard to keep a sustained focus. We have, however, made remarkable progress and the end of COMM 0004 is approaching quickly.

La Cache, eh?
On the way to an ethnic, east-Indian market on Scott Road, we stopped by one of my geocaches at Tannery Park. It was still there and well hidden even after many finders.

Fusion
I feel that it's probably time to write a rather, large blog entry. Nah, it's too hot out! The fan was running all day yesterday and last night and it's still probably 25C outside.
(Here I am bitchin' about the weather but plan to head to Sri Lanka during September and October where it is always 31 degrees. That's okay as when there are coconut trees, I find heat much more acceptable!)
I was going to say something about my birthday buffet of yesterday. Jay took me to Hara's, a place in Surrey because it was an occasion. You see, I am restricted in the number of times a year when I can be a pig. Hara's has three sections: normal, Chinese, and Indian food. Eating there were many people including Iranians and Filipinos. Welcome to the global village!
