I Get Misty

When I was growing up, I loved the 'closed in feeling' of a good snowstorm. Then, years later, when in the Persian Gulf, a good sandstorm offered the same emotional effect. Now, the most similar situation occurs during November. Along the river in New Westminster, we get a unique micro-climate at this time of year. If you search through the blog for balcony shots, you'll see my usual view. You can compare one of those to the picture below. It shows a foggy day. This shot was taken a few minutes before 11:00 am today.

Photo Frenzy

FIRST, VIEW MY BLOG PAGE.
I was free yesterday. I completed typing in another two weeks of text from the 2-month vacation in Sri Lanka. Don't forget to click any of the small photos on these pages to see online enlargements.

THEN, LOOK AT EVEN MORE AT WEBSHOTS.
In the September 19th entry, I mentioned climbing up Sigiriya in the Cultural Triangle. In order for you to be able to see more, I uploaded sixty photos to the Webshots Community pages. At this point, I'm just starting, but take a peek at my photos in the Sri Lankan Cultural Triangle folders.

Worth 1000 Words

Click: See a larger copy of this photo.Yesterday's entry was boring. It was very disappointing not having a photo of my afternoon gang. They work very hard although there are times when they could laugh more at my jokes. I wanted you to be able to see them, so I made sure to have my camera yesterday afternoon.

Not Worth 1000 Words

Click: Load an MS Word File.I am teaching an afternoon class at BCIT. It began last Monday, so we're into our second week now. I really enjoy this group of students. There are 19 and they seem to be very interested in learning English and developing their technical writing skills.

It's an intensive COMM 0003. This means that we meet for sixteen hours per week. Given this schedule, you can imagine how quickly we progress!

I had intended to take a digital picture in class yesterday, so that I might include one here. Unfortunately, I forgot. I will include an MS Word copy of today's class schedule instead. Click the image to open the one-page document on your computer.

Internal Links

It's a little weird 'back-filling' a blog. I promised to keep a paper journal during the recent 2-month trip and add entries and pictures upon our return. I am in the process of doing this now. It is going to take a while before I can fill in all the lost days of October though.

You can, however, already read about what happened in September. Treks around Sri Lanka will continue as subsequent weeks are entered. All the little pictures in each entry can be clicked --- to show a larger one. Please take a look, but remember blog pages are in reverse chronological order and should be read from the bottom .... up!

    Not so HOT...mail

Click to visit the siteInitially, I really liked the idea of Hotmail. Back in the days when Microsoft was pushing the concept of a passport, I joined. Prior to that, I had had to switch ISPs a number of times and went through the hassle of changing my address. How wonderful, I thought, to have a permanent, universal mailbox. The fact it was accessible through Outlook Express or online added to the usefulness. It was also easy to set up multiple accounts for different purposes but have them available through one Outlook session.

Times as well as preferences change. I tried to visit the Hotmail site to check and read mail but discovered that because it'd been more than a month, all my contacts and messages were gone. I work on an alumni website for my high school. You can be sure that mail dealing with that project are now forwarded to VirtualSunapeeReunion@gmail.com.
