When you go abroad to study, you have the freedom to choose where to stay. It is obvious that both living in a dorm and with a host family have advantages respectively. Today, I am going to tell you advantage of staying in a dorm and staying with a host family. Also, reason for why I choose staying with a host family. If you go abroad to study, where would you like to stay?

Living in a dorm has some advantages. You can meet many students, both native students and foreign students, thus getting a chance to learn about different countries. If you have a native roommate, it will help you improve your listening and conversation skills. This will lead you to become fluent in the language. Beside, you can taste various kinds of foods served by your roommates and easy to get close to friends.

Even if you live with a host family, you won't be disappointed. When you live with an entire family, you will learn about the culture in more detail by getting around with them. Like going to church, going on a picnic, and having parties. In addition, you don't have to move out of your room for a vacation, which is usually in most dormitories.

Conclusions, both living in a dorm and staying with host family have advantages as mentioned above. In my opinion, however, right now I'm staying with host family. They are very kind to me and I have good chance to learn their culture. Honestly, it is not easy to stay with strangers, but if you want to learn new lifestyle or having experience with strangers, it 's really good chance to have it. These are the crucial reasons why I choose staying with a host family.
