Driving has become an essential part of modern life. Every day, people rely on wheels not only to physically go to other places but also to meet emotional needs. Driving fulfills human emotional needs. In driving, you sense a controversial feeling of control, risk and freedom. You may enjoy the sporty speed, motion of maneuvering, vibration and noise from the car and road. Meanwhile, you may also suffer the frustration while in traffic jam, get lost or pulled over by police. Actually, people tend to look at their cars as "human beings" and treat them like family members. That's why some car manufacturers even spent millions of dollars to seek lovely, personalized names for the new cars. Interestingly, many car buyers judge the cars mainly by the appearance, such as shape, contour, and color, without paying more attention to mechanical features under the hood. Recently, retro appearance of new PT Cruiser with the 1930's taxicab styling is so attractive that it even stops people in traffic. Some purchasers made buying decision at first glance and have been waiting over 3 months or longer to own a PT Cruiser. Each year, crowds around the world rush to auto shows to take first look on those new models. It is always fun to see audience reaction at the moment new models is unveiled. Anyway, driving and related subjects have been and will be a hot, common topic in our life. May 16, 2000
