FUNG- SHUI

Feng-Shui means "the fortune tell0er" and it is a kind of traditional superstition in china. It is a mysterious thing because it has a special power to predict the future. I have some examples to illustrate how the Chinese relieve in and use the superstition. Fen-Shui affects everything, from buying a new house, to opening a business, to burying ancestors.

Firstly, when people buy a new house, they will hire a person who understands Feng-Shui th research the house. The expert on Feng-Shui will reference the owner's birthday and time of birth to advice this owner about the right site of live. If the position of the house is good for the person, it may have positive effects on the owner's future. They will also consider how to place the furniture for best lucks. The right position that puts furniture correctly will have good effects on everything in the family's life, such as the children will study well, the marriage will be happy¡Ketc.

The second example is the opening of a new business. When bosses will open business, they will ask an expert where to locate the office and how to place furniture for maximum success. It is especially important to decorate the house office correctly, because it will affect the house ability to govern the employees in the future. Further, when the bosses hire new employees, they will take the employees' birthdays to an expert who will advice who is better to hire. As a result, the bosses can choose the best person to help them become successful.

The third example, the most important use of Feng-Shui for Chinese, is the burial of ancestors. The Chinese believe that the well being of the living and dead are connected. A family will consult a Feng-Shui expert before choosing a burial of rite. A had position will have poor influence on the family, so an ancestor's body can be moved from one rite to another in the hope of improving the fortune of the family and future generations. According to these examples, we know the Feng-Shui is a kind of superstition, but the Chinese seriously believe in it. So no matter what they do, they will hire a Feng-Shui expert to help them.
