Job Characteristics

I read many books and articles. At first I would like to tell you how important it is to identify your job needs. Secondly, I would like to tell you about the six job needs that I found important for my job satisfaction.

Unfulfilled needs or conflict among needs result in the job dissatisfaction. And dissatisfying work is detrimental to your health and well-being. Your job needs are dynamic. They reflect your reactions to your work situation. Moreover, as you mature your need hierarchies may change. A young person with a job that involves extensive travel may be satisfied. But once married, with children, that person may find travel has become displeasing. The range of human needs is limited only by the imagination, but some needs contribute more to job satisfaction than others.

I found six job needs very important. This may help you to identify the needs that are important for your job satisfactions. Firstly, achievement is my important goal. Challenge of mastering difficult tasks and feeling of accomplishment is my primary need. Secondly, I considered that all my skills should be used. It is very important that all my education, knowledge, and abilities are used.Thirdly,I want to work in group. Teamwork can lead me to trust and support of collegues. It can also contribute to group goals. Fourthly, it is important that I enjoy all the financial returns from my job. I expect good salary and fringe benefits for the work I perform. Fifthly, it is very important that I take some time off for leisure. The job should facilitate me with time and money for leisure. Lastly, prestige not only involves recognition but also respect form the others. I always want to be respected for my work.
