When an individual chooses someone as his/her wife/husband, it means two people should afford the responsibility for their family. We often hear people say they don't want to be bound by the marriage, so they do not want to have the legal marriage certificate existing between two people. After talking with my friends, now I believe that a legal marriage certificate plays a very important role in the marriage.

First, "legal" means something already allowed by law. In this real world, the law can protect our rights, and give us the freedom. From this point, we can see that if some unhappy and illegal things happened between couples, the law can give a fair and reasonable judgment for each one. If between couples, there is not a legal agreement, they cannot obtain a fair result to protect their right for each other. For example, family disputes always happen nowadays. In some cases, couples hurt or kill each other for some problems. The police and the law need more clues to find out real factors from their family, so the legal agreement helps couples to prove their relationship by the law, and protect the benefits for each other.

Second, when the mothers give birth to their babies, it means the parents have an obligation to provide a good environment for the babies. The legal agreement not only can prove who babies’ parents are, but also gives babies the right, and identity to go to school. From the news that I read from the newspaper, more and more abandoned babies were thrown by their parents, because those babies were not born in a legal family. Maybe their parents thought the baby should not have in their illegal relationship. The legal marriage certificate can offer an intact family environment for the babies, and children may grow up happily.

Last, nowadays, divorces become a universal phenomenon. It makes lots of troubles for people, and most are concern with the property. Sometimes, the property problems bring the lawsuit for couples. This is the reason why now more young people like living together, and enjoy their life without the legal marriage certificate. They do not want to be bound by it, and they believe their love means trust, and they can have more free time to enjoy life without being marriages.

In conclusion, based on the points discussed about, we can see clearly why I believe the legal marriage agreement is very important in our lives. Also, for those unhappy children and unfortunate people in the family violence, I hope the law can protect couples and children. Although some people do not agree with the marriage certificate, I still think it will help human beings have a better life to live in a safe and integrated society.
