Unwanted touching and requests for sexual needs are called sexual harassment. This
has occurred for many years. As many serious cases of sexual harassments have
risen, they have to be solved as a criminal.
Many people believed that the major cause is men, but it’s not enough to explain the
complex problem. According to the previous cases, the reason of sexual harassment
can be divided into two parts: internal and external causes.
Firstly, in terms of internal causes, men and women may be unsatisfied to
their lives. They need something special, especially in sexual ways. Worst,
some people may have bad habits and cannot control themselves. They do
what they want to do. Secondly, in terms of external causes, unlike the
previous era, there are many women in workplace. Obviously, this tendency
may offer an objective situation that people cannot change it. Furthermore, in
workplace, many women and men like to wear sexy dress. To human being’s
instinct, sexy things, short skirts or sexy posture, would lure people to out of
control. Therefore, sexual harassment may happen frequently in the future. Since
sexual harassment, unlike criminal behavior, may be difficult to define, the cases
we have seen in the public just are small part of sexual harassments. Some
sexual harassment defendants have said he or she just likes each other or
said that was a joke. Many sexual harassments are hidden under the water.
Thus, the definition of a sexual harassment behavior is very important for
solving these problems. Due to sexual harassment, employees feel no safety
in workplace. In addition, they may suffer sexual harassment from their boss,
which makes employees worry their job if they refuse the boss’ sexual request.
For a business, sexual harassment would hurt their reputation and it would be
hard to recruit employees. So this is extremely important. It would damage a
business or a person’s life. Consequently, precaution is the best way to
avoid sexual harassment. A smart business does things before, not after, and
may enhance the power of regulation to make sexual harassment to be
impossible. Making some notice to remind employees to know about the
consequence of sexual harassment behavior, such as the amount of compensations,
previous sexual harassment cases studies. Another way would be government
legislation to protect the victims and punish the criminals who did sexual
harassments. Also the government would get them into a jail or punish in money
way. Recent research shows that the best training on sexual harassment or
discrimination gives participants a chance to talk to each other, instead of just
listening to a lecture or watching a film on the subject.
