Both Vancouver and Toronto are unique places in the world where a lot of people visit. There are also some similarities and differences between these two cities. I choose this topic because I live in Vancouver, but one of my best friends lives in Toronto.

Similarities:
The similarities between Vancouver and Toronto include nightlife, number of immigrants, and cost of living. First, people who are living in Vancouver or Toronto always go to pubs, clubs, and Famous Players Theatres at night. Second, the city of Toronto has 1,125,000 immigrants, or one in every four immigrants living in Canada. Therefore, nearly half of Toronto’s populations are immigrants. Vancouver is similar to Toronto in that both cities have a lot of immigrants. Vancouver has 1,078,500 immigrants. Furthermore, Vancouver resembles Toronto in cost of living because people usually pay similar prices for the same products.

Differences:
The differences include lifestyles, climate, and public transportation. First, Vancouver is unlike Toronto in that the lifestyle is more relaxed in Vancouver. Torontonians tend to be very busy with their work all the time; in contrast, Vancouverites are much more easy-going. Next, Vancouver differs from Toronto in climate. Compared to Vancouver, Toronto has hotter summers and colder winters. For example, July and August can bring high temperatures with an average of 31 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, there are beautiful summers with ample sunshine in Vancouver, but winter is likely to bring periods of rain, so people should always bring an umbrella or waterproof jacket. Last, Vancouver also differs from Toronto in public transportation. Vancouver has Sky Trains; however, Toronto has Subways.

Conclusion:
In short, like people in Vancouver, those are living in Toronto always go to the clubs, pubs and Famous Players Theatres at night. Vancouver is also similar to Toronto in number of immigrants and cost of living. Despite the similarities, Vancouver differs from Toronto in climate, lifestyle, and public transportation.
