| Differences in Education in China and Canada |
|
|
First of all, the size of calsses in Canada and China are different. In Canada, most classes have only 25 students or less. Unlike Canada, Chinese classes usually have an average of 60 people in one class as China has a large population. Thus, chinese classes are two times bigger than canadian classes.
Next,
different culture background makes different expectations on the class.
Because of tranditional chinese culture , chinese students must respect
their teachers a lot in many ways. For example, learners can't answer
teachers' questions freely during the class except when they raise their
hands. In other word, if they answer teachers' question one by one
loundly without raising hands, it means they donot respect their
teachers. Compared to China, candian classes are totally different
from chinese classes. Classmates should ask question whenever they need
to, even if they must talk to teachers loundly. That is why most chinese
students are shy to talk during the class since they have different
education and cultural background than canadina. Finally, teachers have different focus in those two country. Chinese teachers focus on results when their students do the exerises. Teachers must give them all correct answers and let them memorize them later. In contrast to chinese teachers, candian teachers focus on proccess. Teachers in Canada would like teach students how to do the quesiton, not only memorizing answers because study skill is more important than results. Thus, it is really helpful for learner as they can improve their study skill a lot.
In
conclusion, each kind of education should fit for the envirment so I
cannot give a comment which one is better or worse. I am really
enjoy study in Canada because I am here right now. |
