Korea is the place of variety. It is the country with a long history and the newest culture. If I can give you tips about traveling in Korea, especially Seoul, I would like to introduce following four categories: markets, traditional places, amusement park, and famous places for young people.

We have three famous markets in Korea. DONGDAE-MOON MARKET, NAMDAE-MOON MARKET, and INSA-DONG are those. All three are public markets. Compared to public markets in Canada, those are a lot huge and busier. DONGDAE-MOON MARKET is very famous night market for clothes, which are cheap and nice. NAMDAE-MOON MARKET is probably the oldest market in Seoul. Even you don't want to shop there, it is nice to visit for watching all the goods and people there. INSA-DONG is the place of tradition. There are many Korean traditional goods, shops and art galleries. If you like to buy souvenirs and gifts, INSA-DONG is the best place to go.

If you are a person interested in culture and history, I will suggest you to go Korean Folk Village and Kyoungbok palace. Korean Folk Village is a small town showing people' lives in Korea before 1800's. There are several performances for tourist everyday, such as Korean traditional wedding. Kyoungbok palace is one of the most famous palaces in Korea, showing our beautiful construction art. If you visit both places - Korean Folk Village and Kyoungbok palace, you will see many differences between lives of loyal family and those of common folks.

Amusement park must be the good place to go if you are planning to trip with kids. There are three types of parks. One is Lotte World Adventure, which is famous indoor amusement park. It also has Outdoor Park, Movie Theater, miniature museum, and ice-rink to skate. I am sure that not only your kids, but also you will love this place. Second one is outdoor play land, called Everland. That place has a big amusement park, pretty gardens, and exciting safari. Third one is Water Park, Caribbean Bay. This will be the place to go if you are traveling in summer. You can play in Caribbean Bay even you visit Korea early late spring or early fall because they have outdoor spa inside their water park.

Now, I would like to talk about some places famous for young generation. Apkujung-Dong is the place with many decent cafés and restaurants. A lot of fashionable girls and boys are hanging around there. So, you will see exciting nightlife of young people in Apkujung-Dong. The other place I want to introduce is Shinchon where is popular for college students. There are two famous universities in Shinchon - Yonsei University and Ewha Womans University. Many tourists often visit those two schools because their campus is pretty. If you are concerned about communication in Korea, you will feel safe in that area since most students speak good English.
