I would like to talk about a comparison of the
procedures for getting a driver license in Canada and in China.
The reason why I chose this topic was because I just got a
driver license in China before I came here. So I knew the
procedures very well in china. I was very positive to collect
the information of getting a driver license in Canada. So I
want to give you the comparison between Canada and China and
hope it will be useful for you.
First, I would like to talk about age limitation. You
should be over sixteen years if you want to drive a car in
Canada. Compare to China, it is more inflexible. You should
be over eighteen years old and under sixty years old.
Then, I will give you some information about test.
A test, also called exam, includes the knowledge test and road
test. The knowledge test will test your understanding of commercial
road signs and your understanding of safe operations, safe vehicle
control, load security, hours of operation and also combination
vehicle knowledge. The road test consists of the following terms:
drive at a reasonable speed within the speed limit, maintain
proper position on the road, back up your vehicle, park on a
hill, and so on. The contents of the test same in Canada and in
China. But you should book a test whenever you want after you
got the learner's license in Canada. Compare to China, the
company will settle all your exams when you got the learner's
license.
Of course, I will tell you something about training.
The procedure of training to be a good driver is different. In
Canada, if you want to have a lesson, you can call to any
company whenever you want and if you are sure that you don't
need a training, you can book a test streightly. But in China,
you should have a training whether or not you can drive a car,
also the company will settle your training when you got the
learner's license and it will last about two months.
At last, I will tell you how to do if you fail the test.
If you fail the knowledge test in Canada, you can return another
day and retake the test you haven't passed and you should pay the
fee. But in China, if you fail the knowledge test, you must wait
one week and retake it, of course, you should pay the fee, too.
If you fail the road test, it is the same in Canada and in China,
you need to wait one week and then pay the fee to retake it.
These are some information about getting a driver's
license in Canada and in China. I think it's also similar to
other countries. View these information I gave you, I think
it will be useful for you if you want to get a driver license
in Canada.
